Visitors Guide- What to expect when visiting us
Whether you are visiting for the first time, returning to church after awhile or perhaps you are new to our community and looking for a new church home. Whatever your situation, you probably have a lot of questions before you visit Louisville First Church.
We would like to try to answer as many of your questions as possible before you arrive. Here is our best guess of some of the questions you may have. If we missed something, please send us an email with your questions and we will try to answer for you.
When are your services?
Our worship services are on Saturdays. Here is our typical Saturday schedule.
9:30am Bible Study and Children's Classes
We offer Bible study classes for all ages. There are several classes to choose from and our Guest Services Volunteers will be happy to recommend one to you.
11:00am Worship Worship
The service includes more traditional worship elements including hymns and is juts over one hour in length.
12:30pm Fellowship Lunch
Following our worship service you are invited to join us for a special lunch on the second Saturday of the month. Immediately following the service, people can make their way to the serving room. Our hope is that if you are visiting, you will plan to stay and enjoy the food and fellowship.
Depending on the week, there are unusually other activities scheduled in the afternoon. This could include a Bible study, prayer group, health presentation or an outreach event. You are welcome to attend any or all of these.
Where are you located?
Our campus is located at 2988 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY. We are located just North of the Watterson Expressway on Newburg Road..
What should I wear?
You are welcome whatever you choose to wear.
The people who attend our service come from all walks of life; therefore it is hard to be specific.
For gentlemen, the dress will range from jeans and a tee shirt to a suit. Most guys will wear a polo shirt and dockers.
For the ladies, the dress also ranges from jeans to a dress. Most of the ladies will either be wearing a dress or slacks.
Is there anything for my children?
Yes, lots. There are a large number of children and young people who attend our services on Saturday. From our Bible study time through our worship service, we try to remember the needs of our young people.
More specifically during our worship service, we offer...
Quiet bags which contain some activities for children in the auditorium.
A parents room for infants. There is also a private nursing area.
Is there plenty of parking?
Yes. Our parking lot is adjacent to our building and has ample room for your vehicle.
I have never attended a church that worships on Saturday. What is it like?
Much of what you might have experienced in a church that worships on Sunday, you will experience during your visit with us. Many things might be similar, but since the Bible says that the Sabbath is special, we believe you will notice the difference.
